Sherkala is a famous limestone mountain-outlier in the Mangystau Region of Kazakhstan, known for its unique shape and historical significance.

Distinctive Shape: From one side, it resembles a traditional Kazakh yurt, while from another, it looks like a resting lion with its head on its paws.

Historical Significance: Its name translates from Persian or Turkic to "Lion's Fortress". It was a key landmark on the Great Silk Road, and remains of a medieval fortress and caravanserai have been found at its base and summit.

Dimensions: The mountain stands approximately 332 meters (1,089 ft) high.

Legends: Local folklore says that if you walk the entire 3-kilometer perimeter of the mountain (which takes about an hour), your wishes will come true.
